Positioning Knots on Silk Thread
Positioning Knots on Silk Thread
Due to its slippery nature, getting knots into just the right spot on silk thread can prove a little challenging.

Step 1:
Pinch the thread with your thumb and index finger where you want the knot to go.
Step 2:
Wrap the longer length of thread around your middle finger and grip it with your thumb and index finger as you pull the long length through the loop you have just created.
Step 3:
When you have pulled the thread all the way through, you can release the loop from your thumb and index finger, but keep your thumb and index finger on the thread where you want your knot to go.
Step 4:
With your free hand, carefully pull the longer length of silk away as you push the loop back toward where you want the knot to be.
Step 5:
When you have reached the correct position for the knot, pull the thread tightly to secure it in place.
