Crimps & Crimp Covers
Crimps are mainly used to attach clasps and jump rings onto the ends of beading wire (7-strand, 19-strand or 49-strand beading wire). Crimps can also be used to position beads along beading wire and crimpable chain.
Crimp covers are small hollow round beads with an opening on one side, allo ing you to slide them on and over the crimp bead or tube. You can then close the crimp cover around the flattened crimp bead or tube so that it is hidden, giving your design a more professional finish.
You might find our illustrated guide to making a beaded bracelet useful as it includes the use of crimps and crimp covers.
Also, check out our video on how to tie a knot on an elasticated bracelet (and add a crimp cover over the knot), while our drop earrings video demonstrates how to use a crimp tube with beading wire.
