Creating Wire Endings on Leather Cord
If you do not want to use a fold-over cord ending to attach a clasp to leather you can create an attachment using Artistic Wire in 20 Gauge thickness.

Step 1:
Take a 6-inch length go 20Ga artistic wire. Place the chain nose pliers 1-inch from one end of the wire and make a 90-degree bend. Create a loop here with round nose pliers, add one half of your clasp, and continue to make a wrapped loop. Cut off any excess wrapping wire, and pinch the end in to stem wire with chain nose pliers.
Step 2:
Flatten one end of the leather cord with chain nose pliers.
Step 3:
Position the flattened end of the leather up close to the bottom coil of the wrapped loop. Holding the wire against the leather with one hand, take the stem wire with your free hand and wrap it around the leather cord very firmly.
Step 4:
Continue wrapping the wire around the leather cord end, coiling it back up toward the clasp, keeping the coils tight. When you reach the bottom coil of the wrapped loop, cut off any excess wire and pinch the end in with chain nose pliers.
